I am the guardian of my heart:
If I feel that it is safe to let down my
defenses,
Then, to you, I would open up.
The sword I wield to cut
And the shield I use to protect
Would become kind to you
And do you no harm.
The walls of stone which I have
constructed,
Which almost kisses the sky,
Would become a ground for you
And carry you to my heart.
Mysteries and complexities
That dwell inside me
Would become comprehensible—
Fully explained.
I would calm and quiet the guard
dogs
And they would become as puppies.
As you draw closer,
The flowers will welcome you,
Opening their petals,
And the instruments will softly
serenade you.
You will sit in the seat of my passion
And you will be clothed with the
sweetness of my affection.
I would look about myself,
Seeing the beauty of it all,
And I will sigh with content.
